july 4th, 2014. a holy date for me. that was the day I shot my very first roll of film using a camera loaned to me by my local camera store. I still remember how it looked. a Nikon F2, very sleek and black, captured images with a satisfying ching! and then thwack! as it advanced to the next frame. I had the day off from my ballet intensive, so I explored my tiny backyard, camera in hand, snapping the way life appeared to me. Not a lot of photos from this time in my life have survived the various phone breakdowns and dropbox disasters that I've incurred since, but this little treasure box of memory has.
